Okanagan SLP

Connection First; Strategies Second.

Sarah is a paediatric Speech-Language Pathologist who specializes in naturalistic developmental interventions to help support the communication development of children with speech and language delays.  Currently living in the Okanagan Valley with her Craft Beer enthusiast husband, Sarah is a mother to three {wild} boys and a retired-therapy dog named Bear.

With over 20 years of experience working with children, I am passionate about ensuring that young children receive what they need to thrive. My dedicated, thoughtful and personalized approach means I’m fully committed to the health and well-being of all my clients and in supporting their caregivers.

Communication services are offered in client's homes, preschools, daycares, behaviour intervention programs, schools, and communities. Currently I am servicing children throughout British Columbia including Vancouver Island. Read below to find out about the services I (with enthusiasm and passion) provide!

Communication Therapy

Children learn communication skills in meaningful, functional activities; that means during daily routines and PLAY! My communication therapy services help support children with speech (articulation) and language (expressive, receptive, social) development in ways that support generalization; that focus on engagement and interaction; and that are FUN! Sessions include 1:1 with myself and the child; sessions with siblings and small peer groups; and sessions with care providers.

Home & Community-Based Consultation

Where do children best learn speech and language? In their own stomping grounds! Targeting your child's communication skills with a home and community-based consultation is a helpful way to learn how to target skills during daily routines and PLAY!  I offer consultations to help Parents, Teachers, Interventionists and Caregivers to help support their child's development in language, play, behaviour, and self-regulation.

Communication assessments are essential tools; they allow us to gather information about where your child is at developmentally, and how we can best support them. My assessment services can be completed in your home, preschool, daycare, or my cozy office. Great effort is made to allow for children to feel comfortable, relaxed, and to also have some fun!
